Indiegogo’s co-founder Danae Ringelmann, discusses how crowdfunding was nonexistent in 2008 and has now grown to by virtually a household name. The simple idea of Indiegogo during this time was to allow individuals to contribute money to back the ideas they believe in. Ringelmann addresses the answers to several questions such as specific challenges faced during the creation of Indiegogo and how crowdfunding is superior to traditional fundraising methods.
