Who Invented the QWERTY Keyboard

The QWERTY keyboard was invented by Christopher Latham Scholes in 1875. He was an American inventor who also made the very first model of a handy typewriter. He was also a Wisconsin politician and a news publisher. Scholes was born in Mooresburg, Montour Country, Pennsylvania, United States in February 14, 1819. After several years, he moved to Danville, Pennsylvania and started to work as a professional apprentice. Due to the invention of his typewriter and QWERTY keyboard, he was named as the “Father of Typewriter.”

The very first typewriter that gained exclusive rights was introduced in 1868. Christopher apprehended that it was an unwieldy object and it also had some issues involving the keyboard. A problem with the QWERTY keyboard occurred when the keys would get locked together due to the short distance between them.

Christopher conducted a study about the letter pair frequency, prepared by Amos Densmore who was an educator and the brother of James Densmore. He was also the financial chief backer of Christopher. The QWERTY keyboard was recognized through the existing mechanical linkages in the typebars within the keys machine. His solution did not remove the issue but it gave some improvements on it.

The arrangement of the keyboard is considered to be significant due to the exclusive rights granted by Sholes in 1878. After several years, when typewriters started in the production process, issues were encountered regarding the QWERTY keyboard again. Through reducing the clutches, the typing process was enhanced. If you will see the QWERTY keyboard, you will; find that it is now easier to use compared to its previous version. Since this kind of keyboard is specifically designed for keys and typewriter that usually move up and down in order to hit the page, this is also used for computers today.
